Moderate, 3.1 miles, 374’, 1.5-2 hours
Easy, <2 miles, 1 hr, if you choose not to climb to the Ledge
This walk combines a quick, steep climb up to a pond and overlook with a wide circuit of pristine Benedict Pond. Wonderful views, a proper trail, a pretty lake. Consider leaving some time to cool off in the pond at the end of the hike. (It’s hard to resist a wade or even a swim here. Motorized boats are prohibited on the pond, and there is a restroom and place to change.) Leashed dogs are welcome. Excellent hike for kids!
Meet at KI at 9 a.m. to drive to Beartown for 9:30. (It’s also possible to meet us there, $5 parking fee)
