Adult Education

Because people often gather at Knesset Israel for life-long learning, the congregation has earned a reputation for year-round high quality Jewish Adult Education.

Working collaboratively with the Program Committee, Myrna Hammerling, Programming Director, welcomes recommendations and schedules classes to suit participants’ preferences and availability.

Adult education programs include:

  • The annual Wildman Lecture Series featuring prominent speakers on relevant topics
  • Ongoing classes reading primary Jewish text – parashat hashavua as well as classics of Jewish thought and jurisprudence
  • Adult bat mitzvah classes
  • Evening series on various topics with our rabbi as well as visiting teachers and scholars
  • Courses in Hebrew for beginners and intermediate students
  • Classes in synagogue skills and prayer leadership
  • Shabbat on weekend programs with visiting scholars
  • Shabbat Lunch & Learn discussions

Up-to-date adult education programming information is available on the KI Calendar.
